Modern Tranquility
Product Details:
Designer: Spencer Russell
Project type: Apartment Interior Design
Description of the work:
Designing this apartment meant creating a subtle dialogue between minimalism and intimacy. The project was born from the need to translate a contemporary lifestyle into a cohesive and quiet living space, using a restrained palette and carefully curated materials. The goal was to design a refined, serene atmosphere with character and depth.
Each room is conceived as part of a larger narrative of calm sophistication. The spaces flow into one another seamlessly, unified by the choice of natural finishes, curated forms, and balanced lighting. The continuity of color tones – soft beiges, deep charcoals, and clean whites – serves as the common thread that ties the apartment together.
The bathroom is designed as a sculptural sanctuary, where matte black fixtures contrast with surfaces in Calacatta – style marble. A round mirror and a freestanding bathtub with soft, organic curves define the space, supported by a minimalist wall-mounted washbasin in marble-effect ceramic. The design is functional yet meditative.
In the bedroom, tactile materials dominate: walls clad in dark wood panels, a low-profile upholstered bed, and soft neutral linens make the space feel grounded and enveloping. The lighting-discreet and linear-emphasizes the height and intimacy of the room. A monolithic marble nightstand and a sculptural black table lamp punctuate the understated elegance.
The living room is an ode to geometry and comfort. Rounded bouclé armchairs, a travertine coffee table, and a minimalist modular sofa sit under the gaze of a graphic black-and-white wall art. A black arc floor lamp adds sculptural rhythm. The space is tied together by a black wall-mounted sideboard and ceramic vases in matte finishes.
The kitchen is the architectural core of the apartment. Tall matte black cabinetry contrasts with the central island in white marble, whose base is a sculptural cut-out form. Surfaces in polished and brushed black finishes, combined with integrated LED lighting, create an elegant and highly functional space.
